In the middle of May, the sun decided to come out… Just in time for Clare and Tom’s Bristol wedding! My wedding photography shoot started quite early this time at Clare’s parents house in Ashton, just a few hundred meters away from my studio in Southville. As usual, I started with the Bridal preparations as Clare and her Bridesmaids’ got ready and shot all the tiny details on the shoes and wedding dress.
Next up it was time to meet the Groom Tom. Now, I think often that wedding photography can be a little bit biased towards the Bride on the morning of a wedding, so I like to try and get the Groom and his entourage to meet me in a pub for some pre-wedding ceremony photography. Clare and Tom had selected the Holy Cross Roman Catholic Church in Southville for their ceremony venue, so I suggested to Tom that we meet at a pub around the corner before they went to the Church. Tom needed little persuading… So we met up at The Coronation pub on Dean Lane. I know this fine establishment very well, its my local pub, and I can typically be found there winding down after every wedding shoot! And we got some cracking portraits of the Tom and the guys too!
Wedding Photography in Clifton
After the church service was complete (The guys weren’t late – I made sure of this..!), I took Clare and Tom up to Clifton Suspension Bridge for some Bride and Groom Portraits with the vintage car they had hired. The car was able to park on the green with the Bridge beyond it, and in just 20 minutes we shot a selection of Bride and Groom portraits.
Last on our list of venues for the day, Clare and Tom arrived at The Grand Hotel, in the cente of Bristol where they were met by all of their wedding guests. The room looked amazing with some cleevr pink mood lighting and after the speeches, the party continued long into the night with a live band.
