Janette and Richard’s big day was about as close to Downton Abbey as it gets! They had selected the exclusive Merchant Ventures Hall in Clifton, Bristol to host their wedding ceremony and celebration. This venue is stunning and the perfect place to for some Clifton wedding photography.

With the help of the Butler, Janette the Bride was sneaked in through the tradesmen’s entrance. We even took a detour via the venues cellars (even that bit looked like Downton Abbey!) to prevent anyone seeing the Bride. Meanwhile, I had ran off ahead to photograph the ceremony room before the Bride arrived where all the guests were being treated to a sensational musical performance from some of the Brides friends. Janette made her grand entrance into the spectacular reception room and the civil ceremony started.
After the wedding ceremony the Bride & Groom and there wedding guests moved out on to the terrace for Pimm’s and Canapé’s overlooking the venues gardens. Next it was time for a selection of wedding group photographs on the lawns. With the group photographs out of the way, I took Janette and Richard across the road for some Clifton Wedding Photography. We used the gorgeous backdrop of Clifton Promenade before heading back inside the venue to use some the huge Victorian windows in the reception room.
After returning the Bride & Groom to their wedding guests I headed back inside to photograph the Dinning room set up for the wedding breakfast. The Dinning room was arranged with a spectacular single table seating all 60 wedding guests (again, think Downton Abbey) that really added a touch of elegance to this wedding day.
